What is the Chiltaico Hike?
The Chiltaico Hike is a high-altitude walking experience that combines Andean landscapes, local culture and traditional ways of life near Uyuni.
Along the route, travelers discover ancient stone structures, native cactus vegetation, traditional agricultural fields and pastoral areas where llamas have been raised for generations.
The experience also includes a visit to the Chiltaico livestock area, where your guide will explain traditional llama herding practices and the relationship between local communities and the highland environment.

Observe the stone boundaries known locally as pircas, traditionally used to protect quinoa fields and other cultivated areas from freely roaming llamas. -
